EuroChem loses initial court case against potash contractor

EuroChem (Moscow), Russia’s leading fertilizer producer, has lost an initial case in an Amsterdam court against Dutch-registered IMR, whose affiliate Shaft Sinkers (Sandton, South Africa) allegedly failed to sink one of the shafts at EuroChem’s VolgaKaliy potash mine, near Volgograd, Russia, according to the companies’ contractual agreements. The dispute with Shaft Sinkers, since replaced by Thyssen Schachtbau, has delayed the mine's completion and EuroChem’s entry into the potash business, which is now expected in 2017.   EuroChem...
