Sumitomo to Build Aluminum Titanate DPF Plant in Poland

Sumitomo Chemical says it will build a new plant to produce aluminum titanate diesel particulate filters (DPF) at the site of its new wholly owned subsidiary Sumika Ceramics Poland, which was established in September 2011. The plant is expected to begin operations in the third quarter of 2013. DPFs are used for filtering soot from the exhaust of vehicles with diesel engines. The Euro6 exhaust gas emissions regulation in Europe, one of the strictest in the world, is due to take effect in 2014, and under Euro6, the adoption of DPFs will be mandated as standard...
