Reports: Ciech's PU foam unit attracts interest from Chinese buyer

Ciech (Warsaw) is continuing its restructuring and is seeking a buyer for Ciech Pianki (Bydgoszcz, Poland), its polyurethane (PU) foam business, as it tries to focus on its soda ash activities, various Polish media reports say. Yantai Wanhua Polyurethanes (Yantai, China) has expressed interest in acquiring the PU foam business, one of the reports says. Yantai Wanhua established a presence in Central Europe with the acquisition of isocyanates producer BorsodChem (Kazincbarcika, Hungary) in February 2011, as reported by CW.
