Makhteshim Makes Two Acquisitions

Makhteshim Agan Industries (MAI; Tel Aviv) says it has agreed to acquire 90% of agchem producer Rokita Agro (Brzeg Dolny, Poland) from PCC (Duisburg, Germany) and signed a separate agreement to buy agchem distributor Magan Yu (Subotica, Serbia). MAI will pay a combined $20 million for the acquisitions, both of which are due to be completed in early 2009. Rokita has sales of $50 million/year, and its main product is the herbicide 2,4-D, MAI says. Magan Yu has sales of $15 million/year, MAI...
