KBR to Extend its Geographical Reach with BE&K Deal

KBR’s recent agreement to acquire privately held BE&K (Birmingham, AL) for $550 million will bring KBR into several new geographic markets, including Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Russia, KBR says. The transaction is expected to close in July, pending regulatory approval. The deal is expected to be neutral to KBR’s earnings this year and accretive in 2009, the company says.
