Mitsubishi Awarded PTA Contract In Poland11:48 AM MDT | September 7, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) says it has received a ¥50-billion ($439.4 billion) order from PKN Orlen (PÅ‚ock, Poland) to build a previously announced purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant at WÅ‚ocÅ‚awek, Poland for PKN’s Anwil subsidiary (CW, Dec. 14, 2005, p. 16). The 600,000-m.t./year unit will use technology supplied by Mitsubishi Chemical, and is the first PTA plant to be built in Poland. The plant is due onstream in October, 2010.
