Evonik to Expand Threonine Capacity in Hungary

Evonik Industries says it plans to increase capacity for the amino acid L-threonine at the company's Evonik Agroferm subsidiary at Kaba, Hungary. Capacity will rise by 10,000 m.t./year, to 30,000 m.t./year for startup in the third quarter of 2013. The expansion is designed to meet rising demand for amino acids used in animal feed, Evonik says.
