Regions :: Eastern Europe :: Czech republic Unipetrol Cracker to Close for Repairs in October4:56 AM MDT | August 11, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Unipetrol (Prague), a subsidiary of PKN Orlen (Warsaw) says it is planning a 21-day shut down at its Litvinov, Czech Republic olefins complex at the beginning of October for turbine repairs. The diffusers within the turbine, which drives the ethylene cooling compressor, have been damaged and that prevents the cracker running at full capacity, Unipetrol says. Production at Unipetrol's injection-molding, high-density polyethylene plant has been "interrupted for sometime" as a result, involving about 10,000 m.t. of lost output...
