Climate Change: EU's Dimas Urges U.S. to Take Leadership Role

Stavros Dimas, the European commissioner for the environment, has called on the U.S. to take a leadership role in ongoing international climate change discussions and has invited the U.S. to lead by actions not words. "Declarations are very good but leadership means actions," Dimas said at European Union (EU) ministerial-level talks held this week in Prague. The climate change meeting is one of several scheduled to take place in the run up to a climate change summit at Copenhagen in December.
