EU chemicals output declines 2.2% in first eight months of 2012

European Union (EU) chemicals production decreased 2.2% in the first eight months of 2012 compared with the same period of 2011, according to Cefic’s latest Chemicals Trends Report. EU chemicals production for August 2012 also declined 2.2% compared with August 2011. The latest data show that the EU chemicals production level remains 5.8% below the peak in 2007, Cefic says.
