Regions :: Eastern Europe EU carbon permit prices tumble to a record low10:02 AM MST | January 28, 2013 | Ian Young Prices on the European Union's carbon market dropped to record lows last week after a European Parliament committee voted against plans by the European Commission to support carbon prices. Permit prices in the EU emissions trading system (EU ETS) slumped by almost 40% in minutes, to €2.81/m.t. ($3.78), after the vote on 24 January. Prices recovered by the end of last week to more than €4.40/m.t. but slipped back to about €3.90/m.t. today.
