EU Parliament adds 12 substances to water pollution priority list; 3 pharmaceuticals placed on watch list

The European Parliament (Brussels) has added 12 chemicals to the EU list of substances known to pose a pollution risk to surface waters, following a vote on 2 July, the parliament announced. Three pharmaceuticals, for the first time, will also be included in a "watch list" of emerging pollutants that could one day be placed on the priority list.
