UOP to provide technology for isobutylene plant in China

UOP, a Honeywell subsidiary, announced today that its technologies have been selected to produce key ingredients for fuels and synthetic rubber in China. Lijin Petrochemical Plant Co. will use the UOP C4 Oleflex process to produce isobutylene, an intermediate used in fuels and synthetic rubber. Lijin Petrochemical will also use UOP Butamer process, which converts normal butane into isobutane to increase feedstock flexibility for the Oleflex process.   The new unit, which is expected to start up in 2015, will produce 170,000 m.t./year of isobutylene at its...
