Regions :: China Sinopec Starts up Para-Xylene Plant12:06 PM MDT | October 8, 2009 | Lindsey Bewley Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical says it has started up a 600,000-m.t./year para-xylene facility at its Jinshan, China complex. The plant uses technology licensed from UOP, a Honeywell subsidiary, and also includes one of UOP’s CCR Platforming units, which convert naphtha to aromatics and hydrogen, and a UOP Isomar unit that converts other xylenes to p-xylene.
