Sibur hikes BOPP capacity, receives clearance for Krasnoyarsk JV with Sinopec

Sibur (Moscow), Russia’s largest producer of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film is expanding capacity by more than 60%. Sibur’s Biaxplen BOPP manufacturing subsidiary will build a plant near the Tomskneftekhim manufacturing complex, at Tomsk, Russia, designed to produce 38,000 m.t./year of BOPP film. Tomskneftekhim will supply polypropylene (PP) feedstock to the new facility, which is scheduled to be onstream at the end of this year.   Biaxplen, at the same time, is expanding capacity of its existing BOPP facility at Novokuibyshevsk...
