Rockwood completes acquisition of Talison Lithium stake

Rockwood has completed the acquisition of a 49% stake in Talison Lithium (Perth, Australia), now a joint venture in which a 51% stake will be held by China’s Chengdu Tianqi Industry Group (Tianqi, China). The purchase price of Rockwood’s stake was $475 million, which was funded with cash on hand, the company says. Rockwood now has an ownership interest in “the world’s largest spodumene source of lithium,” the company adds. “We are now uniquely situated with significant and diverse lithium resources in multiple continents...
