LG Chem confirms plans to build electric vehicle battery plant in China

LG Chem today confirmed plans to build an electric vehicle battery plant in China. The company, the world's largest producer of car batteries, said last month that it was in the final stages of selecting a partner for its Chinese venture. The company has signed a preliminary agreement with the Nanjing city government to build the plant, which will produce 100,000 batteries/year, and entered into a partnership with Nanjing Zijin Technology Incubation Special Park Construction Development and Nanjing New Industrial Investment Group, both state-owned companies...
