Galaxy Resources ramps up lithium carbonate output in China to meet demand

Galaxy Resources (Perth, Australia), an integrated lithium mining and chemicals company with lithium production facilities, hard rock mines, and brine assets in Australia, China, Canada, and Argentina, is ramping up production at its low-cost Jiangsu lithium carbonate plant at Zhangjiagang, China, the company said today. Lithium carbonate is used in the manufacture of lithium-ion battery cathode materials. The company uses spodumene from its Mt Cattlin project, in Western Australia, as feedstock for the plant.   Production at the plant has reached 386 m.t...
