GPCA: Shell Details Petchem Investments, Studying Plans for Iraq

Shell Chemicals, hard on the heels of a recently announced heads of agreement to advance a $6.5-billion petrochemical project in Qatar, is looking at several other opportunities, says Ben van Beurden, executive v.p. at Shell Chemicals. Speaking exclusively to CW on the sidelines of the annual GPCA forum now taking place in Dubai, he said that the third olefins derivative plant at the Ras Laffan, Qatar project will be an oxo alcohols plant.
