Evonik opens hydrogen peroxide plant in China

Evonik Industries, on 8 July, began operating a previously announced, new, 230,000-m.t./year hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) plant at Jilin, China. Evonik has invested over €100 million ($136 million) in the site, thereby raising the company’s current global capacity for H2O2 production to more than 900,000 m.t./year. Plans for the H2O2 project at Jilin were first announced in October 2011, and construction began in April 2012.
