Regions :: China Evonik Breaks Ground on Isophorone Project at Shanghai4:54 AM MDT | June 19, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Evonik held a groundbreaking ceremony today for two previously announced production plants in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP) at Caojing, China. The plants will produce isophorone and isophorone diamine. Evonik's investment in the plants will be more than €100 million ($126 million), and the construction phase is expected to last about two years, the company says. The plants are scheduled to be onstream in the first quarter of 2014. Markets in China and the rest of Asia/Pacific will be primarily served by the new facilities, which will increase...
