Regions :: China Dow to Build GTE and Epoxy Resin Plant in China12:21 PM MDT | July 26, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Dow Chemicals’s epoxy business says it will build a glycerine-to-epichlorohydrin plant (GTE) and a liquid epoxy resins plant at Caojing, China. The GTE plant will have capacity of 150,000 m.t./year, and the liquid epoxy resins plant, 100,000 m.t./year, Dow says. Both plants are scheduled to start up by 2009-10. Dow says it is spending about $200 million to build the plants (CW, Aug. 16, 2006, p. 16). The GTE plant will run on technology that uses glycerine from bio-diesel to produce epichlorohydrin.
