Chinese firm selects Dow Unipol PP technology

Dow Chemical says that Shanxi Coking Co. has signed a license agreement with Union Carbide Chemicals & Plastics Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow, for the Unipol polypropylene (PP) process technology for Shanxi Coking’s 400,000-m.t./year PP plant at Hongdong City in Shanxi Province, China. The plant is expected to start up in 2015 and will produce homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers.
