China to Consolidate Rare Earth Companies

The Chinese government says that China will establish two or three large rare earth enterprises by consolidating companies in the sector. The government did not disclose a timeline for the consolidation. The domestic rare earth industry is valued at about Rmb40 billion ($6.35 billion) and the industry consolidation will cover companies in more than 10 provinces in China, the government says.
