China slaps antidumping duties on polysilicon from EU

The Ministry of Commerce (Mofcom; Beijing) says that China has imposed antidumping duties on imports of solar-grade polysilicon from the European Union for two years, starting 1 May. An antidumping investigation was launched in 2012 following complaints from Chinese manufacturers of solar-grade polysilicon. The investigation had been scheduled to be complete last year; the ministry extended the investigation because of the complexity of the case, and the probe was completed on 1 May.
