About 12 companies that passed tests conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP; Beijing) will share the quotas, the Chinese government says. The companies include the Baogang group (Baotou, China), China's largest light rare earth producer and the parent of Inner Mongolia Baotou Steel Rare-Earth Hi-tech Co.
