Cabot completes construction of carbon black JV plant in China

Construction of a carbon black plant by a joint venture between Cabot and Risun Chemical at Xingtai, China has been completed, the companies announced. Risun Chemical is a wholly owned subsidiary of Risun Coal Chemicals Group (Beijing). Cabot and Risun invested approximately $140 million in the new facility, with Cabot owning a 60% equity interest. Cabot and Risun broke ground on the facility in April 2012. The site's phase-one manufacturing capacity is for 130,000 m.t./year of carbon black.
