Bayer MaterialScience holds groundbreaking ceremony for new HDI plant at Shanghai

Bayer MaterialScience broke ground today for a new hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) plant at Shanghai. The company first announced the project in 2011. The plant, with capacity for 50,000 m.t./year of HDI, will be one of the largest such facilities in the world. The plant will supply the growing demands of the coatings and adhesives industries, which, in turn, supply the automotive, construction, textile, and shoe industries.
