BASF plans €10-billion investment in Asia in 2013–20

BASF says that it will invest €10 billion ($13 billion) in Asia/Pacific from 2013–20 in order to achieve annual sales of €25 billion to customers in that region by 2020. BASF recorded sales of €12.5 billion in Asia/Pacific in 2012. The company says that it will add 9,000 new jobs in the region and that about 25% of BASF’s global R&D will be conducted in there by 2020. BASF currently employs about 17,000 people in Asia/Pacific.
