Axalta to build new coatings plant in China

Axalta today broke ground on a new $50-million waterborne coatings facility near Shanghai, the company says. The plant will supply up to 25,000 m.t. of waterborne coatings for the nearby automotive industry, Axalta adds. The facility is expected to launch production in 2015. “We invested in this facility to meet growing customer needs for high-performance water-based coatings solutions. With this new facility, we are expanding our capacity to provide waterborne paints to help China’s auto industry develop sustainably,” says Axalta...
