Ashland to expand HEC capacity at Nanjing

Ashland's specialty ingredients commercial unit says that it will expand capacity at its Natrosol hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) production facility at Nanjing, China, by 4,000 m.t./year—about 40%—over the next 18 months. The additional capacity will come online in two phases. The first 2,000 m.t. will be available in early 2015 to support the spring paint season and the second 2,000 m.t. will be available in late 2015, Ashland says. Natrosol is a cellulosic polymer used as an additive in various industrial and consumer products, including latex paints...
