Clariant acquires organic pigments business in China, to build new pigments plant in the country

Clariant says that it has acquired the organic pigments business of Jiangsu Multicolor Fine Chemical (Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, China), a leading supplier of several types of high-performance pigments and pigment preparations in China. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed. The acquired business has annual sales of about 210 million renminbi ($34 million) and manufactures and markets pigments and pigment preparations mainly for customers in coatings, plastics, and printing inks in the Chinese and export markets, Clariant says.
