Solvay invests €75 million to build silica plant in Poland

Solvay will invest €75 million ($101 million) to build an 85,000-m.t./year highly dispersible silica (HDS) plant at WÅ‚ocÅ‚awek, Poland, the company announced today. The new plant—located in central Poland, near key energy distribution sources and the new Warsaw-Gdansk highway—will offer logistical benefits to customers in Eastern Europe and Russia, Solvay says.
