Messer forms jv in China to produce food-grade CO2

The Messer Group says it has signed an agreement with the Chinese chemical company Sichuan Meifeng to form a joint venture to produce liquid carbon dioxide (CO2). The new company, Sichuan Meifeng Messer Gas Products, will spend 60 million renminbi ($9.6 million) to build a 100,000-m.t./year liquid CO2 plant in the Economic Development Park at Mianyang City, Sichuan Province, China.
