Regions :: Australia/New Zealand Yara Forms Ammonium Nitrate JV in Australia12:57 PM MDT | May 20, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Yara International and Burrup Holdings (BHPL; Perth, Australia) say they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a 350,000-m.t./year technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) plant in Australia under a proposed 50-50 joint venture, Burrup Nitrates. The plant will be built adjacent to BHPL’s 760,000-m.t./year ammonia facility at the Burrup Peninsula, Western Australia, which was completed in April 2006.
