Orica Reports Rise in Profits and Sales

Orica (Melbourne) recorded a 5% rise in net profits before individually material items, for the fiscal first half ended March 31, 2011, to A$264 million ($285 million), compared with the year-ago period. Sales increased 7.6%, to A$2.9 billion.   Orica’s chemicals segment recorded a 5.3% increase in first-half sales, to A$749 million, compared with the same period of the previous year.
