Regions :: Australia/New Zealand Orica Profits and Sales Climb Despite Tough Markets11:20 AM MDT | May 8, 2009 | DEEPTI RAMESH Orica recorded a 15% rise in net profits for its fiscal first half ended March 31, 2009, to A$264 million ($195 million), compared with the year-ago period. Sales increased 32%, to A$4 billion. Orica’s chemicals business segment recorded a 19% rise in sales for the first half, to A$810 million. Ebitda for the chemicals segment increased 15.5%, to A$103 million. Second-quarter figures were not disclosed. Liebelt: Businesses showing resilience.
