Methanex to restart Waitara Valley plant and raise capacity at Motunui site, in New Zealand

Methanex's Motunui site Methanex says it plans to increase its methanol production capacity in New Zealand by 700,000 m.t./year, to 2.2 million m.t./year, by the end of 2013. Methanex has secured a new natural gas supply agreement, which will enable the restart of the methanol plant at its Waitara Valley, New Zealand, site in the third quarter of 2013, adding 500,000 m.t./year of production capacity.
