The new gas quantities equate to about 2.5 million m.t. of methanol production over the next five years, the company says. Methanex, in July 2012, restarted a 650,000-m.t./year methanol plant at its Motunui site in New Zealand, increasing the total capacity at the site to 1.5 million m.t./year.
