Regions :: Australia/New Zealand Incitec Pivot Studies AN Project4:07 PM MDT | October 27, 2011 | Ian Young Incitec Pivot (Melbourne) says it has begun studying a project to build a world-scale ammonium nitrate (AN) plant at the company's Kooragang Island fertilizer site near Newcastle, Australia. The study is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2012 and follows discussions with customers, the company says. The plant would produce AN for use as an explosive in the mining industry in the Australian state of New South Wales and for export, and to make urea ammonium nitrate for agricultural use.
