Regions :: Australia/New Zealand Australian Firm's Rare Earths Project in Africa Makes Progress8:50 AM MDT | July 11, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas Peak Resources (West Perth, Australia) says it has completed test work for the first two stages of its five-stage sulfuric acid leach process for high-grade weathered rare earth mineralization. This mineral-processing route that Peak is developing would be used at the company's potentially low-cost, long-term rare earth mining project at Ngualla in southwestern Tanzania. Rare earth recoveries of 95% and 99% were reported from the initial acid leach stage and the primary precipitation stage, respectively, the company says. Test work on the sulfuric acid leach...
