Court fines Orica for pollution incidents

The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) of the state of New South Wales (NSW) in Australia announced on 28 July that Orica (Melbourne) has been convicted and penalized A$768,250 ($721,387) by the Land and Environment Court of NSW in relation to charges brought by the EPA for seven pollution incidents at Orica’s facilities at Kooragang Island, Newcastle; and at Botany, which took place between October 2010 and December 2011.
