Regions :: Africa :: South Africa Singapore Firm Agrees on Ammonia-Urea JV in Gabon2:37 PM MST | November 15, 2010 | Ian Young Olam International (Singapore) says it has agreed to form an 80-20 joint venture with the government of Gabon to build an ammonia-urea complex at a port location in Gabon. The estimated total investment in the project will be $1.3 billion. Olam has signed a 25-year, fixed-price natural gas contract with the Gabon government for feedstock supply to the complex. The ammonia-urea complex is due to start operating by the first half of 2014 with capacity for 2,200 m.t./day of ammonia and 3,850 m.t./day of urea. Further details were not disclosed.
