Regions :: Africa :: South Africa AECI to Acquire GE Water Chemicals Business in Africa9:36 AM MDT | June 29, 2012 | Natasha Alperowicz AECI, South Africa’s explosives and specialty chemicals company, says it has entered into an agreement with General Electric (GE) to acquire its chemical and monitoring solutions business in Africa, for $20 million, effective July 1, 2012. The business will be merged into AECI’s subsidiary ImproChem, a supplier of specialty water treatment and process chemicals and services in Africa. The business being acquired supplies products in Africa, excluding North Africa, as well as the Indian Ocean islands of Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, Rodrigues...
