Regions :: Africa :: Libya Yara Signs JV Agreement in Libya …9:57 AM MST | February 25, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Yara International (Oslo) says it has signed a framework agreement with National Oil Corp. (NOC; Tripoli) and the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA; Tripoli) to establish a fertilizer production joint venture in Libya. The partners signed a heads of agreement last April to study the jv, which will take over NOC’s ammonia and urea plants at Marsa el Brega (CW, May 2, 2007, p. 5). The jv is expected to be owned 50% by Yara, and 25% each by NOC and LIA. The partners plan to upgrade and develop production capacities at Marsa el Brega, and evaluate and develop...
