Methanex temporarily idles plant in Egypt because of gas shortage

Methanex says that the methanol production plant of its joint venture Egyptian Methanex Methanol (EMethanex) has been idled temporarily because of constrained gas availability. Methanex operates and holds the majority share, 50%, of EMethanex. The EMethanex plant, which can produce 1.3 million m.t./year of methanol, is located at Damietta, Egypt.
