Regions :: Africa :: Egypt KBR Awarded Fertilizer Contract in Egypt7:13 AM MDT | April 3, 2009 | Natasha Alperowicz KBR says it has been awarded a contract by Egypt Hydrocarbon Corp. (Cairo) to complete a front-end engineering design (Feed) project for an ammonium nitrate (AN) plant at its proposed petrochemical complex to be located near Suez. The plant will be designed to produce 1,060 m.t./day of AN and include an associated nitric acid production facility. Espindesa (Madrid), a subsidiary of Tecnicas Reunidas, is providing technologies for both units. KBR will provide engineering services for both process units and for the offsites and utilities.
