BASF reopens its Egypt operations after two-day closure due to social unrest

BASF Egypt, a wholly owned subsdiary of BASF, has reopened its offices and production facility after a two-day closure due to the social unrest in Egypt, the company announced in a statement today. BASF decided to close temporarily its Cairo and Alexandria offices, and its production site—which makes construction chemicals at Sadat City— to avoid its employees commuting through, or near to, areas where mass demonstrations took place on 16-17 August, BASF says.
