U.S. Spot Butadiene Posts Strong Gains

U.S. butadiene spot prices soared this week, adding about 30 cts/lb week-on-week. The reason behind the price push was short supply and healthy demand, combined with renewed buying interest, players say. TPC Group also shook up the market when the company declared force majeure on butadiene produced at its Houston plant  and put customers on 85% allocation, sources say.
