Polymer Spot Prices Down

Export and contract prices moved in opposite directions in North America through the middle of September, sources say, with low-density polyethylene (LDPE) down $100/m.t. in spot transactions and linear-low density PE (LLDPE) easing lower $30/m.t. However, August contracts were reported to be settled higher across the board for polyolefins and polysytrene (PS). Polypropylene had the smallest rise, gaining 3 cts/lb, ranging up through 4 cts/lb for PS and high-density PE, and 5-6 cts/lb for LDPE and LLDPE. In Europe export numbers were comparably down for...
